Itinerary
At 08:00 am you will be met with your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel, to pick you up and transfer you by a private A/C vehicle to start your day tour.
Meet, pickup and transfer to Saqqara.
As per the scheduled pickup time, you will be greeted by your tour guide and transported to the Saqqara necropolis to begin your expedition.
6 Step Pyramid Visit.
You will get the opportunity to explore the inside of the Step Pyramid. The Step Pyramid is regarded as the first monumental cut stone structure in Egypt, with a height of 204 feet. The design of this structure established the basis for subsequent pyramid building in Egypt, exerting a lasting influence on the evolution of grand architecture for many years. Additionally, you will explore the remaining parts of the compound, including the open courtyard, both temples, and the serdab.
Unas Pyramid Visit
Unas constructed his pyramid in the vicinity of the Sekhemket and Djoser complexes, located in North Saqqara. Connected to the valley temple at a nearby lake, you will get the opportunity to explore the inside of the pyramid. Inside, you will be fascinated by the ancient Egyptian sacred books and their unique style of writing. The manuscripts found in the pyramids and the Book of the Dead were derived from this same pyramid.
Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum Tomb Visit
Subsequently, you will go to the Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum site. Tomb denotes two male people who acted as royal attendants in ancient Egypt. Thomas Dowson and Greg Reeder both served as Overseers of the Manicurists at the court of King Nyuserre Ini, the sixth pharaoh of the Fifth Dynasty. They are regarded as the first recorded same-sex couple in ancient history.
Serapeum of Saqqara Visit
The Serapeum of Saqqara is an ancient necropolis situated in close proximity to Memphis, Egypt. It is widely thought to have been consecrated to the veneration of the revered Apis bulls. The subterranean passageways and rooms house colossal granite sarcophagi that once contained the embalmed corpses of these venerated creatures.
