Today is the centerpiece of the entire journey. There will be no regular archaeological sightseeing scheduled today, allowing the day to be dedicated to witnessing the Total Solar Eclipse of 2 August 2027. After breakfast aboard the Grand Palm, prepare for the eclipse experience.
At the appropriate time, transfer to the designated eclipse viewing area in or around Luxor, selected according to the confirmed access, safety and operational arrangements for the event.
In Luxor, the partial phase is currently calculated to begin at approximately 11:40 AM. Totality begins around 1:02 PM, with maximum eclipse close to 1:05 PM. Totality lasts approximately 6 minutes and 22 seconds, before the partial eclipse continues until approximately 2:26 PM. These are approximate local times in Luxor, EEST (UTC+3); precise timings depend on the viewing location.
Experience the dramatic transition into darkness as the Moon completely covers the Sun and the solar corona becomes visible. After the eclipse, return to the Grand Palm. The remainder of the afternoon is intentionally left relaxed, giving guests time to enjoy the cruise and absorb one of the rarest experiences of the journey.
