Journey Overview

A multi-day wilderness trek from Dana to Petra, ending at the Dead Sea

Amman Airport → Amman Hotel

Arrival assistance before immigration, then transfer to your hotel and overnight in Amman.

Dana Village → Feynan

Drive about two hours from Amman to Dana Village, meet your Bedouin trekking guide and hike about 14 km downhill through sandstone gorges to Feynan for wild camping.

Feynan → Wadi Malaga → Ras Al Faid

Trek about 18 km across the stony Wadi Malaga plateau and over Ras Naqb Shdeid before descending to Ras Al Faid for a second wild camp.

Ras Al Faid → Shkaret Mseid → Gbour Al Wheidat

Follow remote shepherd trails for about 16 km through rugged mountain scenery, Nabataean and Roman remains and pale sandstone landscapes to Gbour Al Wheidat.

Gbour Al Wheidat → Little Petra

Walk about 15 km past Bedouin camps, cultivated areas, Nabataean ruins and ancient water systems to Siq Al Barid and Little Petra, then overnight in a fixed camp.

Little Petra → Monastery El Deir → Petra Hotel

Take the back route via Beidah and open farmland to the 45-metre-high Monastery El Deir, then descend around 800 stairs through Petra to the main gate.

Petra → Dead Sea

Transfer about 2.5 hours from Petra to the Dead Sea, check into your hotel and enjoy leisure time at the beach and on the salty waters.

Dead Sea → Amman Airport

Latest check-out is 12:00; according to your departure time, transfer about one hour to Amman Airport.
