Cycle Jordan from Madaba to Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba

Amman Airport → Madaba

Arrival assistance before immigration, then transfer to Madaba for your first overnight in Jordan.

Madaba → Mt Nebo → Machaerus

Begin the cycling route via Mt Nebo and the Madaba plain to Machaerus. Distance: 46 km. Difficulty: intermediate. Ascent +656 m; descent -733 m.

Machaerus → Dead Sea → Kerak

Descend to the Dead Sea, cycle south along the shore and begin the long ascent to Kerak. Distance: 83 km. Difficulty: moderate. Ascent +1,904 m; descent -1,600 m.

Kerak → Wadi Al Hasa → Dana

Ride back roads through villages and Ottoman ruins toward Wadi Al Hasa, then continue along farm roads to Dana. Difficulty: intermediate. Ascent +821 m; descent -1,394 m.

Dana → Shobak → Little Petra → Petra

Cycle from Dana to Shobak Castle, then use an off-road track toward Little Petra before continuing to Petra. Distance: 72 km. Difficulty: advanced. Ascent +1,869 m; descent -2,118 m.

Petra Visit

No cycling today. Explore Petra with a local guide through the Siq to the Treasury, Street of Facades, Royal Tombs and Pharaoh’s Castle.

Petra → Rajif → Humaimah → Diseh → Wadi Rum

Transfer to Rajif, then cycle via Dlagha and off-road tracks to Humaimah and across the mud flats of Diseh to Wadi Rum. Distance: 74 km. Difficulty: intermediate.

Wadi Rum → Aqaba

Your final cycling day crosses desert terrain before joining a tarmac road to Aqaba. Distance: 58 km. Difficulty: intermediate. Ascent +227 m; descent -1,174 m.

Aqaba → Madaba

No cycling today. At a pre-arranged time, travel by bus for about four hours back to Madaba.

Madaba → Amman Airport

Transfer from Madaba to Amman Airport. The drive takes about 40 minutes.
